At the beginning of the semester Grace started to mention summer projects at church, and Tyler and I thought “Hmmm, that could be cool” but that was about as far as our thoughts on the subject went until one day Tyler took it a little further… Basically, he really wanted us to apply to go to Greece.  After we talked and prayed about it a little more we decided to go for it.  We applied, we interviewed, we got it!

And now the reality of going abroad on a mission trip is setting in.  This is tough.  So far Tyler and I have felt both encouraged and discouraged, questioned whether we should go or not, and I already am wishing I had verbally and prayerfully supported Kristen and Kellie more when they were raising funds and preparing for Cambodia.  I had no idea how much this would weigh on me spiritually, mentally, and even physically.  I’m already tired and all I did was make a list of people while Tyler worked on designing, formatting, and writing the letter.  This will be good, challenging, but good.

One definitely encouraging detail is that we both have the support and love of our family and friends.  That above all else is one of the most important things to us when preparing for this trip.  So, thank y’all, it really means a lot.  Just continue to pray that we remain focused on the Lord and faithful that He will provide us not only with financial gifts but also with prayer warriors throughout this process and the trip.  And yes the picture at the top of this page IS where we are going!

These are our excited faces:
